Andrew is a fine art landscape & object photographer. He is a second generation photographer. In his family, he manages a portion of the studio. It is part of his family business. Most of his pictures consist of landscapes found near his home in Tampa, Florida.
Style:
All of Andrew's photos are quite unique. All of his landscapes posses a variety of vibrant colors, and his object photos are very similar to a mask. Most of his landscapes depict a board walk, dock or small beach building near water and a colorful sky. Although Andrew takes most of his photos in his home town of Tampa Florida, he says he tries to travel to take photos as much as possible.
Philosophy:
Andrew is inspired by Florida's natural landscape. He runs a family business where he sells his work. Although his work is mainly landscape, he also does objects which tend to look like masks.
Compare and Contrast:
Of course, these images were very hard to replicate. The picture of the wine moving in the glass was very hard to replicate because making the wine move in that way and then to capture it in the same exact position proved to be nearly imposable. Same went for the photo of the flame, capturing the flame in the same exact position as the original image was quite difficult. However, I came as close as I could to making it happen. On the contrary, the image of the five glasses turned out very close to the original. I found with the right light and the right materials, the image will turn out just fine.
Artist statement:
These 3 images are in inspiration of Andrew Vernon. They depict objects with moving parts such as a glass with a flame, wine, or just glasses stacked in a row. Some show just black and white. Others show some color and the rest is black and white, similar to a mask. What I like the most is the picture of the flame because it captures the fire in a still position, which is uncommon to see sense fire is always moving. I feel like it allows you to examine the details of the flame.
